That feeling of guilt, of being unworthy, sinner and fear that we feel whenever we thought we are far from God is the exact feeling the enemy wants you to feel. When i say enemy, that could be the devil, yourself or the people stabbing you at your back.
The conflict in this argument is:
1. God wants the Holy version of you: So you can be an example for others in this world. (the salt and light principle)
2. God wants the Sinner version of you: the no-pretending-you, with full of shame, hate, fear, dirt so that he can fix your broken heart and so he can show His love for you.
So, this is confusing right? Which to follow from these two? What’s the thin line?
-------the thin lines is choosing one from wickedness and weakness.
Wickedness – (from my own definition/perspectives) Is an attitude of pride and the absence of humility before God. You don’t care if you're sinning anymore, you embrace it incautiously and you have no desire in repenting at all. You choose sin over holiness even though you’ re aware of the consequences that it may bring. Worst case, you’re a christian already and you're aware of what you're doing
Weakness - (from my own definition/perspectives) Is an attitude of repentance and humility before God because of your guilt, shame, sin and dirt. You continue to choose goodness and holiness but sometimes you fail because of your flesh. (the spirit is willing but body is weak).
The weakness attitude points us back to the first sentence. Due to your weakness, you don't wanna go directly to God because your sins insecurity. You might stop attending church services, counseling, praying and seeking God because of your shame. I tell you, that’s the wrong attitude and at the same time, the right attitude the enemy wants you to feel---alone, defeated, sinful and broken.
Your weakness and struggling –to-be-righteous heart is the perfect attitude God wants. This is where the “Come As You Are” should take place.
God wants you to come as you are in your times of weakness and struggle instead of running away from Him. God wants to heal and stop those insecurities you feel.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit”-Psalm 34:18 (NIV)
"Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest."-Matthew 11:28 (NLT).
Remember that God wants to heal you and show His power in your weakness, only if you allow Him. Remember that the enemy wants the worst of you, destroy you and kill you.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy”– John 10:10 (NIV)
You’re giving your enemy a victory whenever you allow your worries to take over your life and happiness.
Christmas is about the Savior who wants our broken heart. The genuine us, and that’s the reason why He sent his son for us, because He loves us.
“If you sought perfection, I’d die to reach it, but broken heart is all you want”
“I throw my weakness in Your greatness, If this broken heart is all you want”
