Lens Project: Streets and a Slave
"...A street is a public thoroughfare (usually paved) in a built environment. It is a public parcel of land adjoining buildings in an urban context, on which people may freely assemble, interact, and move about.."
-Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street
This is a mobile photography collection of photos i took when i'm on road heading home or going at the office. Streets and a Slave is about the life of an employee and people on the streets in their weekly routine as they strive to work hard in the metro to have a better life and living.
Streets and a Slave: Streets picture the culture of a working environment in the metro and its commuters, while the word Slave represents the corporate people, simply means the "corporate slave" who work hard under big corporations in exchange of a good paying salary.

ReplyDeleteThat's another side of being and old one, it's your time to be you and enjoy!
DeleteI saw the photo of the Bench billboard, obey traffic rules... and i'm like, "Fuck this, the queue is so long, it's so hot in here, streets are jammed with honking and air-polluting vehicles, i'm gonna go on a rage road spree". but in the end, as we are slaves to the minimum wage, we keep ourselves in our small and invisible cage of silence and apathy. Sigh.

DeleteYou can turn this to a blogging series. I love how you captured the streets. It felt like there are stories behind it. My favourites include the one with the wider angle of pedestrian lane and I think the one taken in NLEX.
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving such a nice idea about this one Diane, i'd considering doing a series of it!
