Wonderfully Made


“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”
PSALM 139:14

We’re living in a digital age and social media plays a big role where we share our thoughts and experience like when we travel overseas or locally. We share what we are wearing, what we eat, or any personal stuff. The millennials are the most vulnerable. They wanted to fit and blend into the society. Pressured by their peers and out of curiosity, sadly they give in. Just like I did.


I made bad decisions at that time. I hurt a lot of people including my family especially my parents. I was full of myself because I just wanted to do what I like if it’s not good for me. I didn’t care, it made me vulnerable to do a lot of things that I should not be doing: like drinking, I tried smoking, lying to my parents, I was exposed to pornography, video games and secular music.

For a long time, I struggled with self-pity. I always overthink at that time. I thought about my future like the job I wanted to pursue but I didn’t end up working with something I really love.
I’m just an average looking guy (even below average), average height, and a bit skinny. I even don’t have a fine skin. Lastly, for some reasons, I got rejected several times and hurt someone which was the most heartbreaking part.

You see, I was full of insecurities. I was anxious. I was depressed.
Search no more. Find your value in Christ.

People value their lives based on THEIR:
• Achievements (including the places/destinations they went to and also the food they eat)
• Looks
• Wealth
• Friends
• Popularity



But God created this world with natural wonders, we appreciate and praise Him for that. Let me tell you that we are far more valuable than all the wealth of this world, the 7 wonders of nature or everything because:
• God created us with His bare hands and His own breath (Genesis 2:7)
• God loves us ( John 3:16)
• Jesus died for us ( Romans 5:8)
• Jesus promised that He will come again for us to be with Him forever (John 14:3)

I may not have everything in this world but if I have Jesus, I have everything.
Three years ago my life started to change.

I led the worship for the first time, although I grew up in a Christian family and in the church. I hesitated because the relationship that I had with Jesus at that time was not really personal. It was enough for me to attend every Sunday, that’s all. It’s like a religion or ritual for me. I don’t want to do more for Him and it was a burden for me to be part of any ministry but He caught me off guard. After the praise and worship part, I started crying until the end of our Sunday worship. It is something I’ve been looking for such a long time, the sense of belongingness and the LOVE. I found them in Jesus, He filled the emptiness in my heart.

I started to embrace and love what He called me to do. I also accepted who I am and what I am before Him. I surrendered everything: my whole being including my weaknesses, insecurities, plans, and doubts.

I WONDER where He’s going to lead me but I am sure it will be great!
My value is not measured by what I have, but by God’s Love.

    We all make mistakes throughout our lives, the most important thing though is turning those times into learning opportunities. I'll continue to make mistakes until the day I die, and if I don't it means I'm not trying enough new things or tasking any risks to learn.

    There are more important things like relationships, and knowing that mistakes can be turned into something beautiful. We all hurt each other, it just means that we have to make amends and learn something from it.

    I think social media plays a huge part because people can brag more and easily than they used to before. And the more the likes the better they feel (I've asked some millennials about it and that's what they said). This is a great reminder about our real worth. Jesus showed us that when He died on the cross.

      True! The danger of social is that, we are validated through stats when sometmes we are at the wrong foot.

    This is such a positive post. With Christmas approaching as well I find it quite easy to get drawn into superficial things, when really the only thing we should value is faith and loved ones. It's an inportant time to spend with people and things you love, but we should be mindful.
